Nikolay Du is a Chinese man of Russian Orthodox faith. His Albazene ancestors laid the foundation of Eastern Orthodox Christianity in China in 17th century. Nikolay graduated from St. Petersburg Theological Seminary as one of its top students and mastered his Russian language. He married Alexandra, also a Chinese, who is a Church Choir Department graduate. Last summer Du family had their first-born daughters Ekaterina, but to great sorrow of the parents she was born with cardiac malformation. She needs a surgery which costs around 150 000 thousand yuan (US$ 25000). Orthodox Brotherhood of Apostles Saints Peter and Paul in Hong-Kong in cooperation with Russian Citizens' Coordination Council in China initiated a fundraising campaign to help Nikolay Du (37000 yuan already raised).
